Like Mother Like Daughter?

The madam of any House of Harlots has a variety of dishes on its buffet to satisfy a variety of appetites. If there isn’t a dish to one’s liking, one can be easily cooked up. Even if it’s an AI sex droid!

Christianity has become pretty much the same way. Just as the mother of harlots had daughters and their daughters had granddaughters, then great granddaughters had daughters over many generations, today there are denominations, sub-denominations, variants of denominations, subvariants of denominations, and gain of function denominations to appease any and every philosophy under the sun. And there is the earth full of people orbiting around it picking and choosing whatever fanciful idea they find suitable and to their liking. Even the believers in UFO’s!

And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: ⁵ And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. ⁶ And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.” (Rev. 17:4-6)

The Two Women of Revelations

In watching the news this evening, I saw where the SBC (Southern Baptist Convention) is facing the same sexual abuse scandal as its mother, RCC (Roman Catholic Church), did some years ago. It’s nothing new under the sun. I’m sure the same problem exists in all the daughters. Like mother, like daughter.

From the article below: The nearly three-hundred-page investigation was released yesterday afternoon. Christianity Today summarizes its findings: “Armed with a secret list of more than seven hundred abusive pastors, Southern Baptist leaders chose to protect the denomination from lawsuits rather than protect the people in their churches from further abuse.”

The report was a $2 million undertaking that involved 330 interviews and five terabytes of documents collected over eight months. It is the largest investigation in the Southern Baptist Convention’s 177-year history.
