Idolatry

When reading stories in the Bible, we often overlook some rather important details. Within these details are often found critical principles and sometimes numerological keys that can unlock prophecies and even formulate patterns within the prophetic timeline. I do believe there is a numerology within scripture.

One example is one that runs parallel with the ordinances of the heavens as set in motion by the Lord our God. (Job 38:31-33) The ordinance of some planetary conjunctions corresponding with the 20 total years Jacob served his Uncle Laban (Gen. 31:41) turns out to be a rather important one. Daniel Joseph hit on this 20 year period in one of his messages, but unveils an important detail in Jacob’s story (Gen. 31:19,30) that relates back to the Ten Commandments – Idolatry. They are not Ten Suggestions and nobody kept them for you! We keep them in faith as proof of our love for the Lord. (John 14:15)

Idolatry is the best weapon Satan has in his armory while a lie is his best strategy. He also has strategic methods in the use of his favorite weapon. The sun cult religion in ancient Egypt was much the same in post flood Egypt and Babylon. Names were different after the language was confounded at the tower of Babel. The Egyptian Obelisk was a monument or Idol to the sun god Ra. Worship to the sun god on the vernal day of the sun was commonplace and adapted all throughout history, even today. Man idolizes the traditions of man and forsakes the traditions of God and will defend them with a barrage of philosophy. (Col. 2:8)

  

Matthew 15:2-9

KJV^(i) 2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. ³ But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? ⁴ For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. ⁵ But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; ⁶ And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. ⁷ Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, ⁸ This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. ⁹ But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

The calculated 666 from the scripture directly relates to idolatry. It was prophesied by Daniel in 7:25 that times and laws would be changed. Isaiah gave that as the very reason for the world to be turned upside down in 24:5. The word “name” used in Rev. 13:17 is from the Greek: ὄνομα – a “name” (literally or figuratively) (authority, character).
