Will The New Shemitah Cycle Be A Turning Point In Human History?
From the article:
A number of people have asked me about the Shemitah year lately, and so in this article I will attempt to provide some answers. According to Orthodox Judaism, the current 7 year Shemitah cycle will end and a new 7 year Shemitah cycle will begin when Rosh Hashanah arrives on the evening of September 25th. But that assumes that they have been calculating the Shemitah cycles correctly.
There are some that believe that this is not actually a Shemitah year at all. There are others that believe that a Shemitah year should begin on the first day of the Biblical year and not on Rosh Hashanah. And then there is the debate between those that believe a full Jubilee cycle is 49 years long and those that believe a full Jubilee cycle is 50 years long.
As you can see, researching this topic can quickly become extremely complicated. So let me start off by reviewing some of the basics. This is what Wikipedia has to say about how the Shemitah year is observed in the land of Israel today…
The sabbath year (shmita; Hebrew: שמיטה, literally “release”), also called the sabbatical year or shǝvi’it (שביעית, literally “seventh”), or “Sabbath of The Land”, is the seventh year of the seven-year agricultural cycle mandated by the Torah in the Land of Israel and is observed in Judaism.
During shmita, the land is left to lie fallow and all agricultural activity, including plowing, planting, pruning and harvesting, is forbidden by halakha (Jewish law). Other cultivation techniques (such as watering, fertilizing, weeding, spraying, trimming and mowing) may be performed as a preventive measure only, not to improve the growth of trees or other plants.
Additionally, any fruits or herbs which grow of their own accord and where no watch is kept over them are deemed hefker (ownerless) and may be picked by anyone. A variety of laws also apply to the sale, consumption and disposal of shmita produce. All debts, except those of foreigners, were to be remitted.
Unfortunately, a lot of man-made rules have been created to allow people to keep the Shemitah without really keeping it…
Even for those inclined to consider the Shemitah binding, Talmudic scholars developed a mechanism known as a pruzbul to effectively negate the loan-forgiveness aspects of Shemitah. This process hinges on the scriptural command to forgive the debts of a “friend or brother” (Deuteronomy 15:2), which Talmudic scholars chose to interpret as implying that only private debts are cancelled. Making a pruzbul transfers the debt to a public religious court, a beit din, so the debt is theoretically no longer between friends, brothers, or neighbors. According to this interpretation, the once-private debt is fully recoverable, and nothing is forgiven (see Mark 7:8-9)….
In September 2008, we witnessed another historic stock market crash.
On September 29th, 2008 (which corresponded with Elul 29 on the Biblical calendar), the Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 777 points. That was another all-time record, and many felt that it was extremely significant that the Dow declined 777 points just as one 7 year Shemitah cycle was ending and another 7 year Shemitah cycle was beginning.

Coincidence?
Wrote the following article to the Jacksonville, NC Daily News Paper “Letter to the editor” and it was published a few days later in October 2008:
To The Editor, September 29, 2008
Remember the story about the boy who cried wolf? Why did Congress not pass the “bailout package” the 29th of September? When the President cried wolf about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, Congress quickly gave him a green light and a blank check. After five years, 4,000 plus dead, and billions more of debt, they are still scratching their heads.
Remember the story about Chicken Little? When the President cried, “the economy is falling”, the government began to bail out failed institutions of credit and finance. After a few hundred billion here and there, the government realized that it could not overcome by bribery the economic forces of greedavity (greed + gravity).
During the four weeks of September, the government has been trying to appease the “gods of economics” that can create something from nothing. They create capital from credit by re-circulating the same money and call the difference debt. Then, when their debt becomes unbearable, they ask the over indebted taxpayers to once again sacrifice themselves upon their altars of greed. Remember the Savings and Loan scandal?
I find the following seven facts interesting: It has been seven years since 9-11-01. Leviticus 26 has the “seven times” stated four times. (7777) Revelation has seven churches, seals, trumpets, and the seven last plagues, which are the seventh seal. (777.7) The President asked for a 700 billion sacrifice by the indebted taxpayers. After seven days passed, Congress, still scratching its head over the boy who cried wolf said “NO” to Chicken Little. The Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) was September 30th this year. The stock market fell 777.7 points that day! (Proverbs 18:10-13, 22:21-27) Read Leviticus 25 and remember the month of September!

WOW, Sept. 29 and Elud 29 were the same day in 2008!
{Rosh Hashanah (Trumpets – Tishri 1, 2 began at sunset on Elud 29. Elud was a thirteenth month that year, added to the lunar calendar 7 times every 19 years to keep calendar correct to spring equinox.}
Rome Stock Brokers have used the Shemitah Cycle for investment strategy.

Continuing in the first article above:
…In 2015, the stock market was closed on Elul 29 because it fell on Sunday, September 13th.
But we did witness a tremendous amount of financial shaking during the months of August and September that year.
This pattern does seem to strengthen the case of those that believe that 2001, 2008 and 2015 were Shemitah years.
If those three years were Shemitah years, then 2022 would be a Shemitah year as well.
And that would make 2029 a Shemitah year too.
In fact, many believe that the last Shemitah year in this current Jubilee cycle will be in 2029. And if Jesus died in 29 AD (as many believe), that would put the Shemitah year of 2029 precisely 2,000 years after Jesus died on the cross for our sins.
In addition, it appears that the end of the current Jubilee cycle will wrap up the 120 Jubilee cycles of 50 years each since the creation of humanity. As I detailed in my book entitled 7 Year Apocalypse, all throughout history there has been a belief that God has a 7,000 year plan for humanity. After 6,000 years of human rebellion is complete, Jesus will rule from Jerusalem for 1,000 years during the Sabbath Millennium.
That is one of the reasons why we are supposed to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. We remember that God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh day, and it is also a prophetic picture that points to the time when the world will be at rest for 1,000 years after experiencing so much chaos for the preceding 6,000 years.
If we really are getting very close to the return of Jesus to this planet, that means that everything is about to change.
But as far as the Shemitah and Jubilee cycles are concerned, I want to stress that we cannot be too dogmatic about them.
We simply cannot prove that the Shemitah years have been calculated correctly….

The Exodus was 1446 BC.
(See and compare “The Moses Controversy” and “Patterns of Evidence” with “Missing Links – Appendix II – The Genesis Record” in the main menu.)
Using the Sacred Calendar which begins in the Spring, let’s take 1446 BC and subtract the 40 years that the children of Israel spent wondering in the wilderness. We get 1406 BC (Spring) when they possessed the land and began their farming and such. From the Spring of 1406 BC thru the winter of 1400 BC, they worked the land. Then, Spring 1399 BC to winter’s conclusion 1399 BC, the land had its sabbath rest (Shemitah). In the Spring of 1398 BC they worked the land again for another 6 years. [1398 – 6 = 1392 BC or 1399 – 7 = 1392] Another “Shemitah Cycle” began in the Spring of 1392 BC and they worked the land again for another 6 years. [Farming produce for the last 35 years, I’ve always considered the beginning of the year in Spring. The beginning of spring and the end of winter were a year with summer and fall in between the two seasons of life renewal and death (sleep).]
Fast forward in increments of 100 x 7 = 700:
1399 BC – 700 = 699 BC
699 BC – 700 = -1 or 1 AD (Now we start adding.)
1 AD + (4 cycles x 7) = 29 AD (Year Christ was crucified on a Shemitah year. 6 BC would have been a Shemtiah yeartoo! Maybe Christ was born 6 BC rather than 5 BC because “… began to be about 30 years of age…” Luke 3:23)
29 AD + 700 = 729 AD
729 AD + 700 = 1429 AD
1429 AD + 700 = 2129 AD
Let’s back up in increments of 70 and drop the “AD”:
2129 – 70 = 2059
2059 – 70 = 1989 (Hum, S & L Scandal)
Now, let’s move forward in increments of 7:
1989 + 7 = 1996 (Bill Clinton elected for second term.)
1996 + 7 = 2003 (Bush II invasion of Iraq after his daddy (Bush I) let Saddam Hussein go in Iraq I and we’re still engaged in Iraq II.)
2003 + 7 = 2010 (U.S. federal budget crises along with other states.)
2010 + 7 = 2017 (Trump takes office after winning 2016 election.)
2017 + 7 = 2024 (Will there be an election? Fourth year of the seven seal years. See “Missing Links – Appendix IV”.)
It we were to add another Shemitah cycle of 7 years to the year 2024, it would be: 2024 + 7 = 2031. The mist (3.5) of that cycle would be 2027.5 or the autumn of 2027 according to the Sacred calendar. Similar to the “cut off in the mist of the week” the 70 Weeks Prophecy of Daniel which was in the spring, but in the autumn during the season for Trumpets, Atonement and Tabernacles. (See “The 70 Weeks Prophecy” in Chapter VI of Missing links in main menu.) Add the seven months in Ezekiel 39:11-16 to 2027.5, and that will come to the spring of 2028. Autumn plus seven months is the next spring and a new year according to the sacred calendar of the Bible (Ex. 13:4, 23:15, 34:18, Duet. 16:1). And it begins in the spring!
Important note:
The above calculations are 3.5 years off from what Orthodox Judaism has calculated in “The Shemitah Year Return of The King” article in the “A Fourth Clue To 2027” Blog. They have the last recent cycle 2020/2021 and the next at 2027/2028. The article was “…The Return of the King”. When did Orthodox Judaism accept Jesus Christ’s first advent? Everything is scripture is in the prime of two. As noted in bold at the beginning article in this blog, there is some confusion if their calculations are right. The northern ten tribe Kingdom of Israel lost their identity. Maybe the two tribe southern Kingdom of Judah has lost track of time. (1 Kings 11 & 12) Also, see “The Seven Times Prophecy” in Missing Links – Chapter VI in the main menu.
Remember, there’s a sabbath every week,
and there’s seven annual sabbaths to keep.
