US Intercepts 4 Russian Military Planes That Entered Alaska’s Air Defense Zone

U.S. fighter jets intercepted four Russian military aircraft that entered Alaska’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on Feb. 13.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), which oversees North American airspace and its defense, responded to the incursion with two F-16 fighters and five other supporting aircraft including two F-35s, according to a press statement.

The NORAD forces successfully intercepted a group of Russian bombers and fighters that entered Alaska’s ADIZ.

Alaska’s ADIZ is not part of U.S. airspace, but the zone immediately surrounding it in which NORAD tracks and identifies foreign aircraft.

The NORAD statement said that the incursion was “in no way related” to several high-profile efforts by NORAD to shoot down unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) over the last two weeks….

China Raises Military Reserve Age Limits Amid Increased Tension Over Taiwan Strait

The Chinese communist regime’s military new Reserve Personnel Law will be implemented on March 1. It will raise the age limit for reserve service, covering male Chinese citizens aged between 18 and 60. Analysts say that the changes reflect the regime’s intention to invade Taiwan.

The new law set the maximum service age for reserve command management and professional technical officers to 60 years old, replacing the tiered age limits of 60, 55, and 50 years old in the old reserve service law.

The maximum service age for professional technical lieutenants and command management lieutenant officers are set to 50 and 45 years old respectively, instead of the current tiered limits of 45, 40, and 35 years old….

Chinese Balloon ‘Did a Lot of Damage,’ Says House Foreign Affairs Chair McCaul

The Chinese high-altitude balloon that passed over the United States at the start of February “did a lot of damage,” according to Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

In an interview on CBS’s “Face The Nation” program, McCaul said the Chinese balloon was a “sophisticated spy balloon” that “went across three nuclear sites” as it floated over the United States from Jan. 28 to Feb. 4. McCaul specifically noted the balloon passed over nuclear bases in Montana, the U.S. Strategic Command (STRATCOM), and a base that hosts nuclear bombers in Missouri.

Specifically, the balloon passed over Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana and Offutt Air Force Base. Malmstrom is home to U.S. nuclear missile forces. Offutt is home to STRATCOM, which is tasked with detecting and deterring attacks against the United States and its allies, including nuclear strikes. The balloon also flew near Whiteman Air Force Base, which hosts the nuclear-capable B-2 Spirit stealth bombers.

“It did a lot of damage,” McCaul said of the high-altitude balloon’s flight path. The balloon passed over the various U.S. military sites before it was shot down off the coast of South Carolina on Feb. 4

“The fact is, whether it be the hypersonic weapon they’ve made that circled the world and landed with precision, to the spy balloon, we have to stop selling them the very technology that they use in their most advanced weapon systems that they can turn against us,” McCaul added.

Recent reports have indicated the Chinese government has bought U.S.-produced software products for use in its hypersonic missile programs. In recent years, U.S. officials have accused Chinese spies of stealing key technologies, and lawmakers have been considering laws to curb China’s access to sensitive U.S. defense programs.

Chinese Spy Balloon Incident Signals War Preparations: Cybersecurity Expert

Cybersecurity expert Casey Fleming said the Chinese spy balloon incident signals that China’s communist regime is preparing for war with the United States.

Fleming, CEO of intelligence and security strategy firm BlackOps Partners, raised concern about the four objects shot down by the Pentagon early this month, including the spy balloon, and claimed that they all come from China.

However, speaking at a Feb. 14 press conference, National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby said the unidentified objects that were downed in Alaska, the Yukon, and over Lake Huron were not tied to spying efforts, and could just be balloons “tied to some commercial or benign purpose.”

Pentagon officials earlier said that the three unidentified objects posed no security threats but have not disclosed their origins.

“So those balloons are following the jetstream. And you can absolutely guess where they’re coming from. They’re all coming from virtually the same place,” Fleming said in an interview on the “China in Focus” program on NTD, a sister media outlet of The Epoch Times, which aired on Feb. 14.

“And they’re [China] launching these balloons … with our counterintelligence saying that it’s to basically create fear in the American people, and so on,” he added.

These actions signal that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is preparing for war with the United States, according to Fleming….

‘War is on the way:’ Warning is blared after Hawaii gets lasered

“War is on the way,” China expert Gordon G. Chang is warning after a little-reported incident in which a Chinese satellite lasered the state of Hawaii.

Chang, a distinguished senior fellow at the Gatestone Institute and author of “The Coming Collapse of China,” said, “Nobody on the ground was burned by the green Chinese beams of light on January 28, but the laser shower is another warning that war is on the way.”

The events were noted when, on Jan. 28, the Subaru-Asahi Star Camera caught images of a shower of green laser beams lasting just seconds.

The camera watches for images from the Subaru Telescope on Hawaii’s Mauna Kea.

“The beams were not, as originally thought, from a NASA satellite,” Chang explained.”They could have come from only one source: China’s Daqi-1/AEMS satellite.”

China now outpacing US in 5th gen fighter jet production

China is currently outpacing the U.S. in fifth-generation fighter jet production, a development that would shift military power in the Pacific.

Nikkei reported that China’s inventory of J-20A fighters already boasts 150 available jets, nearly matching America’s current count of 187 F-22 Raptors.

“The pace of China’s defense industrial output means it is catching up. Indeed, if deliveries continue at the same speed, in 2023 the number of J-20As will eclipse the inventory of the U.S. Air Force’s other fifth-generation combat aircraft, the F-22,” said John Chipman, director-general and chief executive of the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS).

Chipman also noted that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has highlighted the importance of strong weapon stockpiles and defense capacity.

“Immediate equipment requirements have led some European states to look to new suppliers beyond domestic or traditional sources,” he added.

The F-22 Raptor, the world’s first fifth-generation fighter jet, was first launched in the 1990s and is still considered the U.S. military’s most advanced jet. The jet began service in 2005, intended to replace the F-15 Eagle, according to Asia Times….

Video: China likely behind green lasers over Hawaii, NASA says

Streaks of green light that lit up the night sky over Hawaii in January were likely lasers from a Chinese satellite, a NASA scientist said. The revelation came just as airborne objects – Chinese and otherwise – began to be shot out of the sky earlier in February.

The lights were captured on video early on Jan. 28 during a livestream of the night sky. Parallel lines of green light quickly flashed one-by-one across the sky in footage from the Subaru-Asahi Star Camera, perched on the dormant volcano Mauna Kea.

According to the video’s description, livestream viewers initially suggested the lights came from the NASA satellite ICESAT-2, which shoots laser pulses at the Earth to scan its landscape. But days later, NASA itself came to a different conclusion.

An update to the video’s description stated that the “most likely candidate” behind the green lights over Hawaii is the Chinese Daqi-1 satellite, according to NASA scientist Dr. Anthony Martino. That satellite is equipped with an “aerosol and carbon detection lidar” instrument that, according to an international database, pulses lasers in a sequence to measure carbon dioxide….

…The clarification from NASA came on Feb. 6, two days after the U.S. shot down a Chinese surveillance balloon that had made a shocking, nearly week-long voyage across the country. Less than a week later, U.S. jets shot down three more unidentified “objects” in as many days in North American airspace, but details on those remain unclear.

The Daqi-1 satellite was launched in April as the first in a series of Chinese satellites aiming to monitor atmospheric gasses and pollution, according to NASASpaceFlight.com.

White Balloon Spotted Flying Near Hawaii

A white balloon was reportedly spotted flying close to Hawaii, just weeks after the U.S. military shot down a Chinese spy balloon near South Carolina and three other unidentified objects this month.

The Oakland Oceanic Air Traffic Control Center on Feb. 19 reported seeing a large white balloon over the Pacific Ocean, according to the media organization BNO News. The object is said to have been spotted about 955 kilometers (594 miles) northeast of Honolulu. In a message to pilots, the air traffic control said that the balloon was flying at an altitude of about 12,000 to 15,000 meters (40,000 to 50,000 feet) and asked them to report if they spotted the object.

The coordinates mentioned would place the balloon in international airspace, although in a region where air traffic control is handled by the United States, the outlet added.

“Some Commercial Flights flying through the area have reported through [Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System] seeing the Large white Balloon at an altitude between FL400 to FL500,” a Feb. 20 tweet by FL360 Aero, an aviation news media outlet, reads.

In February 2022, an object was spotted while floating in the vicinity of Hawaiian islands over Kauai. In a tweet from Feb. 17, 2022, Kenneth S. Hara, Adjunct General for the State of Hawaii, said that the Pacific Air Forces launched “tactical aircraft to intercept and identify the object.”

The object was confirmed to be an unmanned balloon. Kauai is home to the Pacific Missile Range Facility, which is the largest multi-dimensional testing and training missile range in the world….
