With the next election one year and nine months away and the swearing in of the next Commander In Chief two months following, the next hopeful tells what he would do to prevent it. U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said the United States should designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism and start training Ukrainian pilots on using F-16 fighter jets to aid Kyiv in the Russia-Ukraine war.
Graham’s requests, if granted, would represent a significant escalation in military support from the United States to Ukraine. It comes a day after Vice President Kamala Harris formally declared Putin’s Russia to have committed “crimes against humanity” in Ukraine.

Zelenskyy: China’s ‘Peace Plan’ Implies Russian Troops Must Leave Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says he hopes to meet Chinese communist leader Xi Jinping, and that China will urge Russia to end its war if it really believes in the value of sovereignty.
Speaking at a press conference marking the one-year anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Zelenskyy said that meeting Xi would be beneficial for stability and international security.
Zelenskyy’s comments followed China’s release on Feb. 24 of a position paper that outlined China’s desire to be a mediator in the conflict, to which the Ukrainian president expressed cautious optimism….

China called for a cease-fire between Russia and Ukraine in a position paper on ending the war that offered some reprieve to Moscow but was quickly dismissed by Kyiv’s allies as the conflict enters its second year.
Several of the 12 points outlined by China in the document issued Friday would, if carried out, offer clear benefits to Russian President Vladimir Putin. That includes a cease-fire, which would freeze Russian troops in place on Ukrainian territory, as well as a call to immediately end all sanctions not endorsed by the UN Security Council, where Russia holds veto power.
National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, speaking on CNN, brushed off the Chinese proposal, saying it should have ended after the first bullet point, which calls for “respecting the sovereignty of all countries.”
“This war could end tomorrow, if Russia stopped attacking Ukraine and withdrew its forces,” he said.
Asked about the proposal, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said, “China doesn’t have much credibility” in light of its failure to condemn Putin’s war.
But U.S. and European officials worry that the Chinese proposal may get some traction in the global South, which has largely resisted calls to join sanctions against Russia….
