In 1962 while in the third grade, after getting off the school bus I would go into the little school store and buy a big Baby Ruth candy bar for a nickel. I earned it from my cousin in the twelfth grade who drove my bus, as did the senior class in the school, as it was grades 1 thru 12. It was for picking up paper and sweeping it before I walked down the gully across the clay pit and up a slight hill home. It had to be done daily because most of the bus route was on dirt roads.
After hanging around the coal pile used to make steam in the school’s boiler for heat in the old radiators that sounded like a bowl of Rice Crispies right after pouring on the milk, the bell would ring and everyone headed to class.
After walking past the plague with the Ten Commandments on the wall, we would all be seated and waited for the teacher. After she sat down, she would tell us to bow our heads and recite the Lord’s Prayer. Then we would stand, place our right hand over out heart and recite the pledge of allegiance to the red, white and blue flag.
She was highly respected and no one was rude to her for we all knew that the board of education hung on the principle’s wall. She was also my mother’s third grade teacher.
No, this is not a fairy tale for that is the way it was.
Not so today!

…Sponsor state Sen. Phil King, a Republican, set up the plan to have the document at least 16 inches by 20 inches.
The plan now goes to the state House, and if the Republican-majority body adopts it, it would go to Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, for his signature.
It could take effect as early as Sept. 1
King, during a committee hearing on the plan, cited the Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision in Kennedy v. Bremerton as allowing the posting.

… values of Republicans.
Greene recently suggested the split because of the seemingly unbridgeable chasm between the extremist positions of leftist Democrats in America – and the more traditional values of Republicans.
The GOP, for example, thinks parents should make decisions for their children, there’s no need for taxpayers to pay for surgeries to mutilate the bodies of small children, and uncontrolled spending is not the way for government to operate.
Democrats advocate those life-altering transgender surgeries, virtually unlimited spending and the exclusion of parents from major life decisions involving their children.
“We need a national divorce,” Greene, the Georgia Republican posted on social media a few weeks ago. “We need to separate by red states and blue states and shrink the federal government. Everyone I talk to says this. From the sick and disgusting woke culture issues shoved down our throats to the Democrats’ traitorous America Last policies, we are done.”…
And the grounds would be…
(KJV) It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
