Violence and death are becoming more widespread without nation rising up against nation.
In 2020, there were 19,379 deaths by gun violence in the US. This number does not include accidents and suicides by gun use. I do not know if it includes the mass shootings death toll which there were 614 deaths and 2,515 injuries.
In 2021, nearly 21,000 people died from firearm homicides. This may or may not include the 703 people dead and 2,842 injured in the mass shootings. It does not include accidents and sucides.
In 2022, there were 44,310 deaths due to gun violence. It may or may not include the 672 dead and 2700 injured in the year’s 647 mass shootings.
In 2023, so far there have been 11,523 people killed by gun violence. This does not include suicides nor accidents. I don’t know if it includes fatalities from the 39 mass shootings so far.
That is a total body count of 96,212 that died on the streets of the USA in the last three years and four months, not counting accidents and suicides. The US body count of Americans coming from South Vietnam between 1955 and 1975 (20 years) in black body bags was 53,220, not counting the 1600 Pow’s and MIA’s still unaccounted for today. Some say it was safer to be on the streets of Saigon, Vietnam in the 60’s than being on the streets of American cities today. The body count comfirms that!

I don’t know if any of the very, very few and very, very rare deaths by trigger happy police are included. There does seem to be a rise in trigger happy civilians lately who think it best to shot and ask questions later. Recently, there was a little girl and her parents shoot while retrieving a basket ball and a young boy who accidently rang the wrong door bell.

Ralph was the young black boy shot by a crazy white man and has got the most media attention while Kinsley White was the little white girl along with her parents William and Jessica that were shot by a crazy black man did not. Amidst the buzz surrounding Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s China visit that began on April 12, the leaders of both countries have signed more than 20 new bilateral agreements.
On the surface, the trip was a run-of-the-mill diplomatic visit. However, some say it underscores an ongoing deprioritization of relations with the United States.
China is Brazil’s largest trade partner, and both nations operate as cornerstone members of the trade bloc known as BRICS. This alliance also includes Russia, India, and South Africa. Members of the trade bloc openly share a desire to displace the U.S. dollar in trade and as a global reserve currency.
Since the return of left-wing Lula to Brazil’s helm, U.S. officials and analysts have raised concerns over the South American country’s policy shift in favor of Beijing and other authoritarian regimes.
It started with Lula’s welcoming of Iranian warships on Feb. 26. This was promptly followed by the March 29 announcement that Brazil would begin using the Chinese yuan instead of the U.S. dollar in trade transactions.
During a March Foreign Relations Committee, Sen. James Risch (R-Idaho) expressed alarm over Brazil’s overarching cooperation with what he called “maligned foreign influences,” including China….

North Korea Spy Satellite
| North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced yesterday the country had completed assembly of its first military spy satellite and plans to launch it at an undisclosed date. The announcement came just days after the US, Japan, and South Korea agreed to conduct regular defense drills in the region. A spy satellite—the first of several planned in the country—would enhance the East Asian country’s nuclear weapons program, enabling it to gather intelligence on targets and antimissile systems. A test launch of the satellite in December produced low-resolution photographs of South Korean cities, which analysts said would be ineffective for reconnaissance purposes. Putting a spy satellite into orbit requires a long-range ballistic missile, which the United Nations currently bans North Korea from using. The satellite is the country’s latest move in its burgeoning weapons program. Last week, the country tested its Hwasong-18 missile—believed to be its arsenal’s most powerful weapon and the latest in a string of over 100 missile tests since the start of 2022. |

China is using sister city partnerships in the U.S. as an avenue for influence and spying, according to a Republican senator pushing legislation to address the issue.
“They have used the sister city programs as a way to target local leaders in communities around the globe,” Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) said, according to the Washington Free Beacon.
“We know this is part of the way they use their spy network, working at the local level, so that they’re building those relationships and friendships with people they deem as future leaders,” she added. “They want to have that toehold with local individuals.”

Thousands of Chinese illegally entering US through southern border

A growing number of Chinese nationals are illegally entering the United States through the U.S.-Mexico border, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Protection (CBP) data shows.
The CBP recorded 4,271 Chinese nationals crossing the southern border between October and February, The Wall Street Journal reported. The number was more than 10 times greater than the same period the previous year.
Shelter staff with the Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley in McAllen used to see one Chinese person a month, according to Norma Pimental, who oversees the charities.
“Now, all of a sudden, we see a surge of people from China,” she said….

After having warned of its development for seven years and revealed its transporter erector launcher (TEL) in a Feb. 8 parade, on April 13 for the first time, North Korea successfully tested its solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), which it calls the Hwasong-18.
With propaganda images and videos of the Hwasong-18 and his daughter revealed by North Korean state media on April 14, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un was likely paying homage to the real technology source of his new ICBM.
The next day, April 15, was the 11th anniversary of the official revelation of the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation’s (CASIC) transfer of Sanjiang Special Vehicle 16-wheel TELs to North Korea, in a parade celebrating the birthday of the first North Korean communist dictator Kim Il Sung.
Over the subsequent decade, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has barely concealed its continued proliferation of technology to assist North Korea’s nuclear missile programs….

Lawmakers’ Wargame Shows ‘Catastrophic’ Results in US-China Conflict

Lawmakers tasked with overseeing the United States’ strategic competition with China’s communist regime have conducted a wargame simulating a Chinese invasion of Taiwan and the U.S. response.
The House Select Committee on Strategic Competition with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) participated in the wargame, hosted by the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) think tank on April 19.
“We’re going to explore what happens in the very grim scenario in which deterrence fails in the Indo-Pacific,” Select Committee Chair Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.) said according to prepared remarks.
“This is not a possibility we wish to contemplate, but one we must.”
‘Sobering Lessons’
The wargame sought to examine the potential course of events that could take place should the CCP invade Taiwan in 2027, with the Select Committee members playing for the United States and CNAS experts playing for China.
Over two and a half hours, the wargame simulated high-level strategic and operational maneuvers from both sides, including diplomatic, economic, and military actions in which the U.S. side sought to counter the CCP invasion.
The game was ultimately cut short because of time constraints, but its conclusions nevertheless presented the Select Committee with a sobering reality: Resupplying Taiwan with arms and other critical supplies after a CCP blockade had been imposed was not possible….
…China-US War ‘Catastrophic for Humanity’
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), who also participated in the wargame, said that the experiment allowed the Select Committee to come to better grips with just how devastating a war between the world’s two largest economies would be.
“The overall lesson is that a war with China would be devastating and catastrophic for humanity,” Khanna said during an interview with NBC.
“There is no winner in this.”…
