It’s Time to Take A Stand

Ezekiel 34:16-17

(KJV) I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment. And as for you, O my flock, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats.

From Wikipedia:

The Stand is a post-apocalyptic dark fantasy novel written by American author Stephen King and first published in 1978 by Doubleday. The plot centers on a deadly pandemic of weaponized influenza and its aftermath, in which the few surviving humans gather into factions that are each led by a personification of either good or evil and seem fated to clash with each other. King started writing the story in February 1975,[1] seeking to create an epic in the spirit of The Lord of the Rings. The book was difficult for him to write because of the large number of characters and storylines.

In 1990, The Stand was reprinted as a Complete and Uncut Edition. King restored over 400 pages from texts that were initially reduced from his original manuscript, revised the order of the chapters, shifted the novel’s setting from 1980 to 10 years forward, and accordingly corrected a number of cultural references. The Complete and Uncut Edition of The Stand is Stephen King’s longest stand-alone work at 1,152 pages, surpassing his 1,138-page novel It. The book has sold 4.5 million copies.

The Stand was highly appreciated by reviewers and is considered one of King’s best novels. It has been included in lists of the best books of all time by Rolling StoneTime, the Modern LibraryAmazon and the BBC. An eponymous miniseries based on the novel was broadcast on ABC in 1994. From 2008 to 2012, Marvel Comics published a series of comics written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and illustrated by Mike PerkinsAnother miniseries debuted on CBS All Access in December 2020, and finished airing in February 2021.[2]

Although the book, which I first read sometime in the mid 80’s, was an interesting book and a very good read. I also remember when it came out as a mini-series in four parts on the major network ABC. I remember thinking how the fours parts paralleled with the four horsemen in the book of Revelation

I have recently found the original 1994 complete four part series on a You Tube video subtitled with three titled parts. (There are three woes in the book of Revelation.) Total run time for all three consecutive parts is 5 hours, 59 minutes and 01 second – 59 seconds of 6 hours.

Part I – The Plague

A gain-of-function flu bug gets loose form a Department of Defense facility and rapidly spreads killing most of the population except for a few who are immune and survive. In the aftermath of total chaos and madness, the survivors have dreams which draw them to two different locations.  Those drawn to Mother Abagail head out to Boulder, Co.

Part II – The Betrayal

The people drawn to Mother Abagail and Boulder form committees and try to go back to what once was. Three spies are sent out to Las Vegas where the others have gathered drawn by Flagg. There is a betrayal in Boulder and four others are choosen to go to Las Vegas and stand.

Part III – The Stand

Only one of the three spies survives and returns, and meets up with the only one of the four who survives that fell by the wayside while going to Vegas. They return to Boulder after Flagg and Las Vegas are destroyed by a nuke.

There are some amazing parallels to the realities of today!

Although the novel and movie doesn’t follow any prophetic timeline or scriptural specifics, it does have a strong Biblical message for these times!

Some Interesting Math

2008 – 1994 = 14 years (total number of years Jacob served his Uncle for Rachel)

2016 – 1994 = 12 (number of sons by Jacob whose name was changed to Israel and Tribes of Israel)

2024 – 1994 = 30 years (a number for betrayal)

If there is an 2024 election, what Stand will people take?

Remember 2020?

Another miniseries debuted on CBS All Access in December 2020, and finished airing in February 2021.

{I think a better actress could have been found for Mother Abagail’s part.}

2028 – 1978 = 50 years (number for Jubilee)

Will committees of men and women govern over all the remnant of mankind?

Zechariah 13:7-9

(KJV) Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones. And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

Revelation 20:1-6

(KJV) And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Come out of Babylon for her judgement is near!

YES! EERILY “The Stand” sure does look as though Steven King had a premonition of the last days, even if he were to claim scripture had no bearing on his writings it sure looks like the hand of God guided him in the making of this film.
Stay Strong soldier as the battle of a lifetime is about to unfold. Be Blessed.
