A Red Horse Update – 05/23/23

As A U.S. Navy Vet, I have recently wondered if our Navy today can sail the high seas keeping the USA safe for free and fair trade upon them and defending our nation’s interest and involvement in that free and fair trade.

Having problems with recruiting from a pool of men and women with only 29% deemed eligible for military service, can the Navy weigh anchor in defense of the nation and the high seas or just drag that ole anchor along with newly founded and funded drag queen shows?

Take it from an old salt…

China Has ‘an Edge’ Over US Naval Power: Expert

From the article:

China has advantages over the United States in naval power in actual combat, according to former Navy Capt. Brent Sadler.

“I think we’ve been spending years quietly building up our munitions production capability, but we’re not there yet for the type of fight that we would be in with China. Then … on shipyards, China’s got massive capacity there, one of their commercial shipyards has more capacity than all of the shipbuilding [of the] United States,” Sadler told “China in Focus” on NTD, the sister media outlet of The Epoch Times.

“It’s a very sad testament of how far we’ve allowed our shipbuilding industry to fall,” said Sadler, a senior fellow at The Heritage Foundation and member of the Center for National Defense.

According to the expert, the Chinese military also holds the whip hand over the U.S. military regarding its proximity to home.

“The Chinese are a lot closer to home. So that’s mitigated their ability to load up and replace munitions. They have a vast industrial base. I think they have got an edge on us there,” he said.

Naval Power Buildup

To catch up with the Chinese might, Sadler suggested that the United States build “three destroyers.”

“We also know we need Virginia class nuclear submarines,” he said.

“We have a frigate design that’s new but stable. So [the] first thing is [to] go ahead and purchase all the ships that you know you’re going to buy in the next five years and get the money into the shipbuilders and ship the risk to them so that they can start making capital investments to grow their workforce, to grow their shipbuilding capacity, which we’re going to need if we get into a fight to repair those same ships in a war,” he added.

He noted that the plan would face political and legislative challenges as the bill for 45 ships, which he deemed needed for the next five years, would cost up to $150 billion.

Edge at Sea

As the author of “U.S. Naval Power in the 21st Century: A New Strategy for Facing the Chinese and Russian Threat,” Sadler said that the United States should be ready in the event of a conflict with both China and Russia.

“And where that advantage against those two is at sea. It’s also where we can actually engage the most countries in the most economic markets, that we need to sustain our own prosperity and our own security, and do it in a way that’s very nimble and very, very responsive, but also in a way that we can take the initiative away from the Chinese Communist Party, and things like the Belt and Road Initiative,” he said….

The Constitution calls for congress to build and maintain a Navy!

How can that fullfunctional Navy be maintained when 71% of the age eligible population that’s only 7.2% LBGTQ are military service ineligible?!?!

Standards have already been lowered!

Mainwhile, on the land across the “big pond”…

From the 1440 Daily Digest:

Russia Claims Bakhmut

Russian officials claimed their nine-month campaign to capture the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut had succeeded Saturday, marking its first significant conquest since last summer. On Sunday, Ukrainian officials denied the claims after comments from the country’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking from the G-7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan, appeared to indicate otherwise.   Analysts claim the city, located roughly 30 miles north of the capital of the region of Donetsk, is not strategically significant but became symbolically important to Russia after some initial territorial gains last March were lost in a Ukrainian counter offensive in the fall. Some of the war’s deadliest fighting has occurred in the 400-year-old city, reducing its prewar population of 80,000 to near zero and the majority of its buildings to rubble (see images).  Intense fighting in the city has depleted munitions and manpower on both sides, with the US estimating Russia has sustained 100,000 casualties in five months of fighting there, including 20,000 deaths.

Is so much US assistance in Ukraine’s resistance futile to peace talks?

Depletion of US Munitions Stockpile Due to Ukraine War Will Benefit China: Former Military Officials

From the article:

Two former military officials are sounding the alarm that the depletion of U.S. munitions as a result of Washington’s support of Ukraine could end up benefitting China. This is occurring as the communist regime is modernizing its military posing a grave threat to the United States, they say.

Air Force Col. (ret.) Rob Maness, a former bomber squadron commander who served the U.S. military for over 30 years, told The Epoch Times that China is overtaking the U.S. military while the country is unnecessarily distracted with Ukraine, “wokeism,” and more. Force structure is one of his primary concerns, considering the naval fleet of the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) is larger than that of the U.S. Navy.

He contends that national security experts in the West underestimate the impact of the size of Beijing’s navy, deflecting to the superior quality and technology of the U.S. Navy. “While that’s not necessarily untrue, numbers matter and these [experts] know that numbers matter,” he said. “They matter in ground forces, they matter in air forces, and they certainly matter in naval forces.”…

Xi and Zelenskyy have talked

And there’s the Pope’s efforts towards peace in Ukraine

Didn’t Zelenskyy ban the Ukraine Orthodox Church with ties to Russia?

Traveling Abroad may be hazardous to one’s health!

Tourist Kidnappings, Crime Spark US Embassy Warnings

From the article:

The U.S. State Department issued several travel warnings to Americans about visiting several South American or Caribbean countries due to a rise in crime and kidnappings.

Namely, the agency last week called on U.S. citizens to “reconsider travel” to Jamaica and Colombia due to crime. It also said that the threat of terrorism is elevated in Colombia due to a recent rise in activity.

“Violent crimes, such as home invasions, armed robberies, sexual assaults, and homicides, are common. Sexual assaults occur frequently, including at all-inclusive resorts,” the State Department said in its Level 3 travel advisory for Jamaica, updated last week.

The notice added that local police in Jamaica “often do not respond effectively to serious criminal incidents,” adding that ” when arrests are made, cases are infrequently prosecuted to a conclusive sentence.”

“Families of U.S. citizens killed in accidents or homicides frequently wait a year or more for final death certificates to be issued by Jamaican authorities,” according to the alert. “Emergency services and hospital care vary throughout the island, and response times and quality of care may vary from U.S. standards.”…

Revelation 6:3-4

(KJV) And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

Zechariah 13:7-9

(KJV) Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones. And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

Isaiah 9:6-7

(KJV) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Matthew 5:9

(KJV) Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Isaiah 2:2-5

(KJV) And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.

Come out of Babylon for her judgement is near!
